Mr. Syed Muhammad Ali

Mr. Syed Muhammed Ali is the Chief Executive Officer of Engro Vopak Terminal Limited/ Engro Elengy Terminal Private Limited & Elengy Terminal Pakistan Limited, he is also Heading The New Ventures Division at Engro Powergen Limited since September 2015. Prior to this he also been the Chief Executive Officer of Engro Powergen Qadirpur Limited since November 2011. Previously he has held various key assignments of Engro Corporation Limited. He joined Engro Fertilizers Limited in the year 2000 and has worked in various technical and managerial capacities.  He was also involved in the enVen Project of setting up the world’s largest fertilizer Plant in Dharki. Prior to his joining Engro, he has also worked at Fauji Fertilizers Limited and ICI Pakistan Limited. Ali has done his bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering from UET Lahore in 1995.

Mr. Ghias Khan

Ghias Khan is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Engro Corporation Limited. Before being appointed President and CEO on December 1st 2016 he had held several executive and board roles across Dawood Hercules Group companies.

Joining Dawood group via acquisition in 2005, Ghias was the CEO of Inbox Business Technologies one of Pakistan’s largest technology companies. During his 15 years at Inbox Ghias grew the employees to over 1900, and pivoted the company from a computer manufacturer to a systems integrator, and then again to a technology enabled digital services company.

Most recently Ghias was the Executive Director & Head of the Chairman’s Corporate Office at Dawood Hercules. He was the principal aide of the Chairman of the Group on a range of matters of institutional importance including but not limited to board governance, communications, external relationships and special projects. Ghias also served as Chairman of Elixir Securities from 2011-2014.

Ghias is a strong believer in the social enterprise and the responsibility of businesses to environmental and human wellbeing.

Ghias holds an MBA from the Institute of Business Administration in Karachi.


Mr. Shahzada Dawood

Shahzada Dawood serves as a Director on the Boards of Dawood Hercules Corporation Ltd, Engro Corporation Ltd, DH Fertilizers Ltd, Dawood Corporation (Pvt) Ltd, Engro Foods Ltd, Engro Powergen Ltd, Engro Powergen Qadirpur Ltd, Engro Vopak Terminal Ltd, Pebbles (Pvt) Ltd, Patek (Pvt) Ltd, Engro Polymer & Chemicals Limited, Sirius (Pvt) Ltd and Tenaga Generasi Ltd. He also serves as a Director of Dawood Lawrencepur Ltd and Engro Fertilizers Ltd. He is a Trustee of The Dawood Foundation, which is one of the largest public charitable trusts in Pakistan, supporting education and health initiatives. He serves as a Member of the Board of Governors of the National Management Foundation, the sponsoring body of Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). He is an M.Sc. in Global Textile Marketing from Philadelphia University, USA, and an LLB from Buckingham

University, UK and a Certified Director of Corporate Governance from the Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance. He joined the Board in August 12, 2005.

Mr. Ruhail Mohammad

Ruhail Mohammed is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Engro Fertilizers Limited. Prior to his current position, he was the Chief Financial Officer of Engro Corporation Limited and also the Chief Executive Officer of Engro Powergen Limited. He holds an MBA degree in Finance from the Institute of Business Administration Karachi, and is also a Chartered Financial Analyst. Ruhail has 25 years of Financial & Commercial experience and prior to becoming CEO has worked in areas such as treasury, commodity & currency trading, derivatives, merger & acquisitions, risk management, strategy & financial planning. He has worked in these areas in Pakistan, UAE and Europe. He is on the Board of Engro Corporation Limited and its various subsidiaries. In addition, he is also on the Boards of Cyan Limited, Hub Power Company Limited & Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance. He joined the Board in April 22, 2012.

Mr. Ismail

Mr. Ismail has been with Vopak for 18 years. Since 2011 he is working as Director for Vopak’s chemicals business with offices in HQ located in Rotterdam.  Currently, Ismail is responsible for sales, marketing and commercial activities in Vopak for all chemical related storage activities.  His experience in logistics and tank storage services spans over multiple regions with specific focus on Industrial Terminaling, where he leads one of Vopak’s core strategies in this service market segment.   He is also member of Board European Petro Chemical Association – EPCA Logistics Committee in Brussels.

Prior to this role, Ismail was located in Singapore for 10 years where he held the positions of Commercial Director Asia and Managing Director Singapore. Prior to Vopak, he worked as CFO and later as Commercial Manager of Engro Vopak Terminal Limited for 3 years. He also worked for Engro Corporation Limited (Previously Engro Chemical Pakistan Limited) for a period of 5 years.

He is a Mechanical Engineer from Lehigh University, USA and an MBA in Finance from St Joseph’s University, USA.

Mr. Martinus Petrus Frans van Akkerveeken

Mr. Martinus Petrus Frans van Akkerveeken, Dutch national,  born on April 10, 1964.  Maarten holds a Master degree in Business Administration. After an 11-year career as management consultant, Maarten became CFO of an international retail company. In 2001 Maarten started his own company and provided interim management services to many international companies. In 2009 Maarten joined Royal Vopak NV to become Director Finance & Control EMEA. Maarten holds several (supervisory-) board positions. He joined the Board in February 15, 2011.

Mr. Dick Meurs

Mr. Dick Meurs is the division President EMEA Vopak Rotterdam since August 2015. He joined Vopak in 2008 and worked as Managing Director of Vopak Venezuela for 4 years and Gate Terminal for 3 years.

Mr. Meurs started his career as Project Engineer Infrastructure at Royal Dutch Air Force in 1987. Later since 1988 he held a variety of leadership roles in P&O Nedlloyd as Country Manager Russia, Mercosul Line as President of Shipping Company in Brazil and in Maersk Logistics as Director in South America.

He has completed his education from Technical University Delft, with MSc. degree in Civil Engineering and has completed management-training courses from Maersk & P&O Nedlloyd & Vopak and Program for executive Development from IMD Lausanne.


Mr.Javed Akber

Javed Akbar is a Masters in Chemical engineering and has experience in the fertilizers and petrochemical industry with Exxon in the USA, Canada and Pakistan. He retired from Engro in 2006 and established a consulting company providing strategic insight and support to the energy, fertilizer and petroleum sectors. Mr. Akbar is a member of energy experts group at Government of Pakistan and at Sindh Environmental Protection Agency.
