Wim Samlal is Senior Vice President Finance of Business Unit – Asia & Middle, Vopak, effective August 2023. Based in Singapore, Mr. Samlal brings with him over 30+ years of experience in Finance, of which 25+ years in the tank storage business with Vopak. In his current role, he heads all finance activities for the Asia and Middle East region including countries Australia, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Thailand, United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.

Mr. Samlal joined Vopak in 1996, and has held numerous executive finance roles in various locations during his tenure with Vopak including the regional Finance Director for North & South America (based in Houston, USA), China & North Asia (based in Shanghai, China), as well as Global Finance Director (based in Rotterdam, Netherlands).

Before joining Vopak, Mr. Samlal was with Nedlloyd (container shipping).

Mr. Samlal holds an MBA from Erasmus University Rotterdam, and a post-doctorate Controller’s degree from the University of Amsterdam.
